Cat Spraying
7 Answers
My 4 year old eunuch moggie has recently started spraying randomly ANYWHERE indoors. He's always been very clean & when I shout a warning (when catching him in the act) he leaves the scene of the crime & heads for nearest door. Is he weeing/ spraying? He has a catflap & he always nags to go out. Any ideas why he's being lazy/territorial?

Sounds like a new kid on the block to me.
Here is the article from FAB - it looks like, as the others have said, that something has changed in the neighbourhood. Strangers getting into his home or he feels threatened either at home or outside.

I've had 10 years of this ! With my cat it has always been due to nervousness and simply the smell of my shoes coming into the house after being near another animal can set her off.
It can be another cat in neighbourhood and ur cat is spraying to assert her territory. Or it could be a UTI infection or other health issue. Could be new litter that he doesn't like, there's several possible causes.
Whatever the cause, good luck in sorting it as somehow the spray that they give out is more pungent than just normal pee.
Try not to shout/punish as this can make them worse and more nervous and the cycle repeats. Also try to remove it 100% OR THEY CAN GO BACK ON TOP IT UP.
