Colin has started crotch sniffing!!

He has just turned 11 months old and is neutered, is it some sort of puberty?

How can I stop it?

Cheers in advance

Is it specific crotches or every crotch which comes his way?
We had a border collie who used to hump this guy's leg............just this one guy. I never tried to stop him as it was too funny.
You know how in some houses they ask you to take your shoes off at the door?

When your guests come in, provide some sanitary wipes and ask them to have a quick clean, so Colin doesn't find anything attractive to sniff.

LOL.

If Colin is a Labrador, it's in his genes. They are notorious for it.
Have him on a collar and lead and when he tries to do it gently restrain him. At the same time practice practice practice recall for a treat. He will want very much to do it because that is how dogs gather info on dogs and people but if you are gentle and persistent you can teach him that you don't want him to.
Get your guests to say with a withering look "you'll only find cobwebs up there, mate".
Our vet has told us to wait until the dog is a year to be neutered (male). Something to do with hormones. Could it be that he was done too early? Or is that usual?
I am assuming that Colin is, in fact, a dog and not your other half.......... ;)
LOL barmaid....
I thought Colin was a cat.
crumbs, if the cats tried that, they'd lacerate your legs on the way up there :-)
Well that kind of depends how long your legs are, Boxy.

Sorry, bad day, I'll go to the pub now.
Either way, barmaid, the answer is the same. ;-)
take Colin with you, barmaid, he'll have a field day in there :-)

Neutering does not cut off his sense of smell ! Bitches do this too. It's what dogs do. They can learn a lot from a sniff, including how big the maker of the odour is......

Just tell him "No!" in a firm voice and distract him.

Good advice. Works for me.
