Vegans And Pest Infestations

I often hear people saying that an animals life is "worth" as much as a humans and that got thinking about what vegans would do if they had an infestation of rats or mice in their home?

Probably exactly the same as I would (and I'm a meat-eater). I'd use humane traps and release those beautiful creatures into the countryside. I'd never kill a mouse or a rat; it's their world as much as it is ours.

We had mice

We tried various humane traps - useless

We tried sonic repellents - effective but not totally successful

Then we adopted a stray cat - and the mice moved out

The only creatures we've ever killed are ants

Maybe we're just species-ist?

I suppose they could get their fluffy little pussy cat to chase the mice or rat away.

I'd not thought of the humane traps, i suspect it would be tricky dealing with an infestation this way, and wherever you eventually drop them off probably wouldn't be very happy... Unless you're driving then out into the countryside?

Cat could be a plan but I was assuming vegans wouldn't keep meat eating pets?

I remember seeing a documentary about a temple in India where the rats are held sacred and believed to be the souls of the dead.
The place is literally running alive with them.

One should never sneer at anyone just because of their choice of diet.

Although it's best to avoid being in a lift or a small room with a vegetarian who's just eaten.

And keep them away from naked flames.

What would they eat?
