...but three weeks ago my hubby told me about a white bird he had seen on the fence. He described it as white with dark speckles, he got out the field handbook "Birds of Britain and Europe", but could find nothing like the one he saw.
My sister was here today, making a cuppa by the kitchen window she also spotted a bird and called me, but by the time I got there it had gone.
She said it was once of the most beautiful birds she had seen, and described it exactly the same as hubby did weeks earlier. She also said white-with black or dark speckles, and about the size of a blackbird.
We DO get both thrushes and blackbirds in the garden.
Several of the blackbirds have a few white feathers too, one has a whole wing that is white. Hubby in bed now, but I will show him pics of both tomorrow.
We have a missile thrush comes in too, but we both know that one.
