Derma Roller - And Scars - Too Wide - How Can I Use It?
3 Answers
I have a dermal roller - in case you dont know, this is a roller with tiny spikes on, designed to be rolled over tight scars - the idea is, the tiny holes made will heal over with a tiny bit of extra skin, and with regular usage will eventually release the tightness of the scar.
i have an appendix scar from when i was 11 - most of it is normal and fine, but there were complications and a tube was put in - this has left a 1 inch long dent, about 1cm deep - like an extra belly button (it is often my party piece to pretend, always gets people haha)
problem is, these rollers are about an inch wide - but the actual scar is only about 2-3mm wide ... so how do i get to just that bit - and not my normal skin around it?
any ideas?
i thought about a few layers of gaffer tape over the sides, but with it being 1cm deep i will have to press hard to get to the scar, and these spikes are very sharp and thin, and would likely pierce gaffer no problem.
it also cant be anything too hard like metal - because it wont be able to get deep enough and might bend the spikes.
it seems odd that they dont come in varying widths really
thanks for any ideas
thanks

Perhaps they might be better than what you've already got?

ah thanks all
i bought this years ago and just didnt bother with it as i couldnt use it - i thought you could move the rings to the size you want you see, but you cant
i did look for very thin ones and didnt see any at all - they all seemed to be about an inch wide.
i'll see how easy the spikes come off, and if not ill just buy one of those thin ones i think
thanks
