i have befriended a Carion Crow at work. I usually give him a handfull of fishfood....carp pellets which he loves.

However, it would seem he needs more. Today, he came in our hut at work looking for food. I gave him more fish food plus a soaked digestive and bourbon biscuit, which he loved.

Anything i should/shouldn't give him ? I came back from a fishing trip recently and put some maggots out for him which he turned his beak up at and some prawns, which he loved.

I say "He" because there's usually 2 of them.....sometimes 3 (probably last years baby)

Any help appreciated, i just love them.

Dog food?
Mazie beat me to it with that link. :)
I've got a pair visiting my garden but only one comes down for food and then takes it up to it's mate. I love the wsy they dunk dry food in water. My neighbour once saw one bury some cake.
I looked after a crow when I was a child. He was a young one and some kid shot his nest out of a tree. I used to feed him worms and snails. I used to spend half the day fishing snails out of my Mum`s plants, removing the shells and feeding them to him with a pair of tweezers. It was a full time job as they eat an awful lot.
They go crazy for those little cocktail sausages, as I recall.
Crows and other corvids can eat all sorts of things. Eggs, meat, fruit, nuts, seeds, insects, pretty much anything unprocessed will do him fine. If you carry on, he might start bringing you presents! If you aren't feeding him enough, he can always go off and find himself extra food.

Fascinating link....thanks for that. I can see this costing me a small fortune.

I'm off to Tesco now :-)
When camping a few yrs back, we sat and watch a crow with a mouthfull of food, tucking it into the hole where they have their camping pitches laid out.
Fantastic to watch..they are so intelligent. (Tucked it tight into the gaps)
