Has anyone any suggestions how to remove the remnants of ivy that was
once growing up our garage wall. The wall is stone chip and the ivy root/tendrils ( or whatever they are called ) are still stuck to the wall
We want to paint the wall white ultimately
Thanks

Got quite long lengths before it broke off. As it got higher sent Mr U up the ladder to do the same. Left marks which are slowly weathering away. Make sure you have got rid of all the root.
These anchor roots (as I call them) can persist for a long time after you've stripped the vines away.
On the rough surface you have there, I'd opt for a bucket of water and a stiff scrubbing brush and alternate between circular and side ways motion.
Whether adding some detergent to help soften it, may help, I'm not sure but its worth a try.
