Can anyone tell me why sea gulls are protected ???

We who live on the coast know that the gulls are not the problem. It is the dirkeads who think feeding them chips and burger waste is somehow a must have when they bring their tracksuits out for some fresh air. So in the winter we train them to attack anyone eating from a big take away bag, box, or bucket. We teach them to queue up outside McDs, Greggs, KFC, Chippies, and all kebab and curry premises. They are protected to keep them from harm by the types listed above. I can take a picnic to the beach in May before the influx begins, by September the gulls will have been conditioned to seize the opportunity.

Seagulls is an acceptable common name for the Gull family. If we're being pedantic there is no specific bird just called a Gull.
