Yappy dog next door is slowly driving me insane. We have done all the civilized things i.e telling them it yaps constantly when they leave it alone, but they couldn't care less .

They can actually last into their late teens. Surely it annoys its 'caring' owners too ?!

Dog warden? we don't have them in my area. I don't think many areas do.

Can you offer to care for it while neighbors work? You could train it to obey your command to stop barking.

I work a 40-50 hour week and the last thing I need is to look after their rat so they can go out and enjoy themselves. I suppose it yaps during the day, we are rarely here, but it can go on till midnight.

Enviro health definitely, it's a noise that is bothering you. Poor dog however, owners not aware or caring that it's left on its own in distress. Have you thought if walls are thin enough...to buy a 'dog' whistle which it might hear and stop it mid track? I've had this problem before so I empathise with you. Try to get help if you can, why should you suffer through inconsiderate people living next door....?

That dog is being abused and neglected if it's on its own all day, every day and into the night.

Report them to the RSPCA. They might do something.
