Oh it's stopped ! They must have come home. Phew !
I can cope with that, Sam. I love yorkies & theyre excellent ratters.
Sam....I feel your pain! Torn between the poor animal and relief at it stopping is horrendous to endure. My advice would be to turn to an animal rescue group who can actually DO something..liaise with owners or...if possible take the dog away! Might be difficult but it can happen. Otherwise...letters to the owner...plead with them..tell them how cruel they are being..record the poor dog and say you have the recordings and will let authorities hear them. Last resort really..been there done that but unfortunately it's always the victim who suffers the consequences as well as the animal.......best of luck.
I have had this problem in the past. The most you can help for is for the local council to mediate between the neighbours.
*hope for*
Sam....when MrG was very ill at home I had the same.....environmental folk from the council came and told me to record when it barked....like I had time to do that....so I contacted the Mayor and my councillor.....anyone to make myself as much of a nuisance as the dog was to us....and I kept it up til it was sorted.....
Don't put up with it......it's a bloody pain listening to someone else's dog yapping all the time.....fight your corner.....!

I feel strongly about this...you'll have gathered.....☺
^ So how was it sorted?
Gness....totally agree...drives one to distraction and frustration, you shouldn't HAVE to put up with it...but sometimes it's so difficult to deal with. Always the ruddy victim who suffers... Life? This is the hell they talk about.
I didn't have to record weeks or months of barking.....they came to my house....listened from inside and in the garden.
They interviewed other neighbours who were as concerned as I was that the dog was left alone in the garden from Friday morning til Monday evening....and this was proved.....much more quickly than if I had agreed to make recordings.
We had contacted the RSPCA about the dog being left but they didn't want to know.

The owner was given the opportunity to have the dog rehomed and he accepted......silence and bliss...

But as I say......I had to push to get this action.
A good outcome for you and the dog then, Gness. Well done for persisting.

///Report them to the RSPCA. They might do something///

In my experience they won't do a thing, unless there's something in it for them, they're a bloody disgrace nowadays.
We became as concerned for the dog, Tilly as I was for MrG...stuck in a bedroom for weeks with a yapping dog over the back......but, apart from MrG dying it was a good outcome...I guess the dog got a better home where it didn't have to rely on us throwing dry food over the fence......☺
:-( xx
As someone who has got dogs, i really agree with the posters who say to harass the council until something is done. Dogs who are happy and well cared for don’t yap continuously. Either they are happy to be left for appropriate periods or the owner knows there is a problem and manages it. Poor dog. Poor you.
Exactly, Woof......I explained to the RSPCA that the dog was left for four days in the garden while the owner was away from home and that it was barking constantly...and whining....and how was it being fed and watered?

Their response was that they weren't in the business of stopping a dog barking just because it was annoying me!

So the council it had to be......x

Thanks for your comments and advice. I will keep you updated !
Please do, Sam.....and it should be sorted as much for the dog as you. I don't have dogs but from the responses you've had from good dog owners here it's not a happy situation for the dog either......x
Poor, little unloved thing, although I know a constantly yapping dog can drive a person mad ! So can a newborn baby crying all the time next door, which is what I have to put up with now.
Contact your local Environmental Health department.
