Lol emmie, my weapon of choice was the mop I had just done the floor with. Neighbour nearly fell off ladder laughing at this screaming banshee belting up the path, ratty took to his heels, no-one messes with me and me mop.
a mop will do it, when mice invaded my home en masse, which was decidedly unpleasant, i resorted to swiping the little b &&
with a broom, even knocking one off the curtain pelmet, agh could have gone mad trying to clean them, out.
I can loan you our terrier. He will dispose of the rat and have a happy day - but he will also eat the meal-worms! (Rescue dog, had been half starved so eats anything including bird-seed - but he is a good ratter.)
Yes please jourdain2, we were saying earlier a terrier would do the job. Ratty is residing in the compost bin, dug a tunnel underneath, pleasant task for the weekend, my 17 stone, 6 ft 4 husband is quaking at the thought. Lol!!
We emptied the compost bin and power washed everywhere, so far he seems to have decided to go elsewhere as I haven't seen him since. It was quite funny, both of us in our wellies creeping up on the compost bin armed with power washer and spade, only to find he wasn't home.
