Most bird tables (with a roof) are open and allow these larger birds access. They will eat everything on the table in one sitting! I've put diagonal wooden slats across all 4 entry points. Allows smaller birds and keeps the greedy ones off. Works very well. Just watched a wood pigeon flapping about trying to get onto the table without luck! The slats obviously only work if the birdtable has a roof.

I have got three feeders. One allows access mainly to the small birds, one allows access to thrush/blackbird sized birds and the other is an open one that anyone can get to. This allows the woodies a share of the food and leaves some for the rest
I got rid of our bird table and feeders due to the mess - very ungrateful little blighters. I once counted approx 50 birds all perched on my fence, waiting to pounce on the feeders .... you can imagine how much poop they left on our fence.
Yes, but not just wood pigeons, other larger birds like, crows and magpies too.
I have a range of different types of feeders to allow the smaller birds to get a look in.
