The vet's never seen this before...she had sores/ulcers all over. They just seemed to be scabs through her fur. She's been shaved, given 14 day antibiotics jab, and I need to treat the wounds with Manuka honey. She's back on Monday...and then tests for possible feline leukaemia or aids.
I just want to cry...wish I'd taken her sooner...though that may not have made a difference.

Thanks for the update.....a reasonable approach by your Vet, but I still feel that blood tests or even biopsy will give you the answer.

I think the blood tests will come on Monday. He said he couldn't even give her pain relief yet as it might compromise the healing process. She's a bit perkier since having the antibiotics.
It's very worrying when a vet says he's never seen it before.
Also...one of her pupils is different from the other. Possibly due to an ear infection from the sores.
Don't feel bad, cats are notorious for hiding injuries or illness. They are very devious.

I hope the test results don't take long to come back, at least then you will know what u are dealing with.

Hope she's ok pasta. That manuka honey is fantastic for wounds.
Oh bless her, I prescribe lots of fish with the odd bit of chicken thrown in to help the healing process.

Thanks all...she slept all afternoon. As a cat should. I've just applied some honey to the ulcers and attempted to get a bit of oralade in her. A bit of freshly cooked chicken later.
Oh I do hope she'll be OK. How old is she pasta? Supervet used Manuka honey to great effect on a little dog this week. Amazing stuff. Everything crossed for you here as well:-)

She's about 6-7 years old...so hopefully she has a good few years left. Thank you for your good wishes.
That's no age bless her. I hope she has many happy years ahead. I'll be watching for an update. x
Hope things improve soon Pasta.x
do hope the kitty gets better soon xx
Question Author
I really do mot expect her to pull through.
She's probably in a worse state than she was 24 hours ago. Very weak, she not eaten and its a struggle to get the oralade in her...and more scabby sores are appearing. God knows what this is...but I think she needs to be released from it.
I'm crying as I type this...I just want to help her... I just wish I could make her better.
I'm sorry pasta, I know how much you're pets mean to you, maybe better soon with the antibiotics ,
Question Author
Thank you Anne...but I feel it inside. I know she's far too ill to recover. I can see it in her eyes.
Oh bums, Pasta.....I have been there and it sucks......I know what I did was for the best but it hurts, doesn't it.... :-(
Oh Pasta. How awful. I had similar with a cat. Her fur fell out and she was covered in blisters/scabs. After several months of tests, it was identified that she had a thyroid problem - vet had never seen anything quite like it.

ASBO and I will keep our paws/fingers crossed for your furbaby.
Could be some sort of auto immume disease. Regardless of what it is, I hope she doesn't suffer.

I respect you're instincts pasta, you know her best, take care ( both of you ) Anne .
Don't give up on her pasta. My daughters cat came home with a broken jaw one day.The vet couldn't make out if he had been run over or kicked about by some thugs. We felt sure he would have to be put down, but after the op to set his jaw, he eventually recovered and went on to live for many years after. x
Sorry pasta, I meant to add, I hope all goes well on Monday. Let us know tomorrow. x
