Do giraffes have knees? They keep their legs straight and splay them out wide when they bend forward (to drink etc.), so perhaps they don't. Just an idea.

Nah a giraffe has knees, I can see your reasoning but how would it walk if it didn't have knees? Herer's a picture of a giraffe.

I'm thinking banth is on to something as you would have to walk with very stiff legs if you didn't have knees and I for one can't think of any animal with legs that walks that way. I could most definitely be wrong though. :)
