A few questions regarding this photo, these eggs were found in a hole in a field near my house. They are completely white and about one and a half inch long.
1 Do you think these eggs were laid where found? 2 Did they hatch or were they eaten by something from above? 3 Any idea what laid the eggs?

Then we can almost be certain it is either a wood pigeon or a collared dove egg

Looks more like a hatching but hard to be certain.
could they be a ducks ,is there water near by

Maybe doves or pigeons. When their chick hatch the shells are dropped away from nest, to deter mauraders like magpies

There is no water nearby, they’re pretty fresh and larger and different colour to blackbird’s eggs. I’m inclined to agree with tamborine maybe doves or pigeons and yes possibly a hatching. Bit mistified as to how they got there didn’t look like they were dropped. Believe me definitely not campers no one in there right mind would camp on that field.

Tits, Robins and Sparrows have all nested in my garden their eggs are much smaller.

Collared doves are early breeders and the eggs match yours in the picture.

It seems Woodpigeon is the likely answer and apparently lay 2 eggs in each clutch and no more. So probably dropped? Would they have laid on the ground?

///The only bird i can think that would just lay on the floor would be a hen///

What about Pheasant, Partridge, Grouse etc never seen any of them nesting in a tree tbh.
Skylarks also lay on the ground (although those are too big for them and if they are an inch and half they are way too big for tits, robins etc as well).
