Hi. I was shocked to find a bug in my tropical fish tank... It's brown, 6 legs and pretty big.. Looks like a water boatman but different.. Any ideas

Put it in a spare tank with some plants and gravel try live food and see what happens

Turns out it's a dragonfly larvae... About 3 months ago I got some pondweed from local pond.. I googled whether it was OK.. Google said as long as I part bleached it to kill gremlins it was OK.. Turns out these beasties didn't snuff it. Oh and they like shrimp so beware.

Best return it to the local pond, I'd say.
