No the digitalis are predominantly a northern European family , there are some varieties that survive as far south as the Algave but most require cooler and damper conditions

Seen plenty in this country. Even planted one during the summer.

Most of them are native plants which are classed as biannual, or short lived perenials forming a rosette of leaves in the first year and forming a flower spike in the second year.
