Magpies, Wood Pigeons, And Ordinarily Ones, Are Stripping My Bird Table In Minutes.

I'd put a dish of peanuts on the bird table and small birds would come back and forth, eat, and go.
These bigger birds can clear it in no time. I don't mind them having one serving but how to protect supplies for the little ones?

I use those wire hanging baskets, two wired together to make a globe. You can get them with various sized mesh so you can have one that only the small birds can get in and one with bigger holes that blackbirds, thrushes and so on can get in. Put a little mesh bird feeder tray inside before you wire the baskets together and use a long handled spoon to load the food in.
I have put bars on mine so the big birds can't get in. I started with something like this then filled in the sides with wood bars so the pigeons etc could not get in. https:/ /www.eb ay.co.u k/itm/T raditio nal-woo den-bir d-table -garden -birds- feeder- feeding -statio n-free- standin g/25232 4770146 ?epid=1 0126735 92& hash=it em3abfb a7162:g :xwUAAO SwHxVW7 HO5:rk: 17:pf:0
