My dogs has a lump

Hello.

I'm very worried as I found a small lump a couple of weeks ago, about the size of a pea, on my dogs front leg. He also has a small lump on his lower lip. This one I didn't know about until I came home from work to find him bleeding and discovered the cause. I rang my vets straight away and got some advice and made an app to see them first thing in the morning (yesterday). They looked him over and don't know what the problem is, so have given him cream for his sore lip and he has an app to go back next week for tests where they will take some cells from each lump. Has anyone had a lumpy dog and what was the outcome? Neither lump bothers my dog in the slightest but I'm worried for obvious reasons as it could be serious.

Yes my 12 yo weimaraner is a lumpy dog. the vet has had a good poke at the lumps, they are mostly fatty lumps, some are scars, loads are warts. Dogs tend to get them with age. She had one removed because it broke into an open wound that she wouldn't stop licking and that was non cancerous as well. Its a scary time I know, keep your chin up.

thanks woofgang. My jake is only 3 so he's too young to have any serious problems. It's when the vet asked me if he is insured that I started to get really worried, (and yes, he is). Oh well, keeping all paws crossed !

My wife's dog has lumps which the vet has said are not cancerous. They are just little growths. However, he did say that in some cases, it can be cancerous, and if so, there are several alternatives for treatment. In the case of our lumpy dog, the vet is taking no action. He just checks the dog at each visit.
