Would like any information about how to encourage bats to roost on our garden. We have many flying around but don't know what type of boxes they would use or where to site them.

Plants that attract lots of insects will provide a basis of foodstuffs for bats. Strongly scented flowers, fruit trees and herbs are good. Other insect-attractions are ponds, rotting logs and trees generally. Obviously quiet, dry areas in which they could nest are a good idea and the Bat Conservation Trust has a list of folk who sell bat boxes. http://www.bats.org.uk/batinfo/batboxsup.htm
