I spent four days standing on a footpath just outside Canterbury, carrying out a survey of pedestrians and cyclists. The survey point was right next to the river and, throughout the entire period, there were a pair of kingfishers constantly diving in and out of the water. It made a rather boring job far more interesting!
We’re going to be quieter when we approach where we saw it in the hope of spotting it again - it was just sitting on a wall for a bit before it flew away.
Near my home, there is a beautiful house with gardens which are open to the public for 1 day each year. The wild life around the lake is simply stunning. I have never seen so many damselflies and dragonflies in a single location. Amazed to see a kingfisher there last year.
We were gazing over Fisherton Street bridge in Salisbury when my wife spotted one in a tree. Luckily I had a camera with me and it stayed for 5 minutes or more.
