I have a friend who works in ASDA who this week alone has got me 3 whole ducks at 2.50 each and 2 whole salmon at 3.50 each.
If she continues at this rate I will need another freezer!
Any decent recipe unusual ones would be welcome

Thanks all, I actually quartered one of the ducks then roasted the carcass for the duck fat for roasting potato and now got some lovely stock in the freezer

Blimey! I paid 15 quid for half a side of salmon!

I've cured it myself in beetroot and fresh horseradish and vodka. It's yum.

Fresh horseradish clears out your nasal passages when you are grating it!

If people want venison, gamebirds, wildfowl, rabbit etc for little or nothing, they should have a look at the facebook page 'Giving Up The Game' where 'hunters' will advertise game surplus to their requirements, often for free or for a nominal amount to cover costs.

Bake the salmon with orange slices in tin foil and then serve with Philly mash, broccoli and dill sauce.

JimF - that's what I'd do with the salmon, too - except for the dill sauce , perhaps. I would probably do Hollandaise. Nothing nicer than salmon cooked in its own juices in foil…… perhaps Xmas dinner?

Everything that swims on or in it ends up in Asda ;)
