Cuckoo

Don't think I'm the first by a long way but I walked out of the door this beautiful morning to hear the cuckoo on song, so summer might be on it's way
I have started shaking the vacuum cleaner content around the garden because about 90% of it must be dog hair
Within 10 minutes a pair of Jackdaws arrived and set about picking up beakfulls (?) giving them a good shake and flying off

I can't recall hearing a cuckoo for some years now, only the song they make before returning to Africa.

I often clean out my hairbrush in front of an open window and watch the birds gather it.

Used to hear them all the time when we used to visit my late grandmother out in the country, but never, ever seen one in the wild.

Come to the Preseli Hills in May and you can't miss them - it's wonderful

Maybe one fine day, I'll put on my blue sued shoes and head out to the Preseli hills and hear them for myself :-)
