Her scratching herself constantly, we’ve tried everything , changing shampoo, her food, my washing powder and softener, the Vets gave her steroids , it’s gone on for a few months now , tonight she was on my knee lying flat and I didn’t realise how her undercarriage is going bald with her scratching , I’ve tried antihistamine, we’re at our wits end now x

About every 6-8 weeks Tamb
I think your removing the dogs natural oils. If my dogs were itchy I apply weak vinegar to the spot (usually tick bite). Shampoo less unless necessary.

Thank you , all tips here are gratefully received
Bobbs - my wee Maxie hasn't been at all well today. Refused food - just lying sluggish etc - has drank water but not himself.

He cannot even jump on to the settee either. So he has nothing in his stomach at all today. Although earlier he vomited twice. I'm hoping he will be better tomorrow.
Jj. Poor Maxine, I hope he’s better tomorrow .
anne - Maxie - ach yes just not his wee bubbly self.

Lol. I did type Maxie.
Maxie needs the vet if he's drinking excessively & not eating; could be his kidneys? How old is he
This time every year my dog had problems with harvest mites, although I couldn’t see them. He was scratching all the time, short term steroids solved the problem.
I ha e a dog with the same problem which he has had for years, got worse now he is old, was really causing him distress. Saw the vet last week, he is now on Apoquel tabs 16mg. Quarter twice daily for 14 days then a quarter of a tablet daily which he can stay on for the rest of his life, he is 12 years old. I bathe the really bad areas once daily in hibiscrub not sure how you spell that and they are almost gone now. It is wonderful, no itching and he is so much more comfortable in himself. My vet has been in the profession for 20 years and specialises in dermatology. Hope this helps .
