...drinking water from a bowl I just watered a plant in?
I just caught Toby doing this...immediately after he'd been eating and there's fresh water next to his food dish. He's done this before. Weird cat
Sammi...the greyhound I had for a short time...drank from the toilet. I read that it was something about the water being fresher.
I suspect Toby would be afraid of a water fountain...he's very wary of anything new.
I guess I'll try a different location for his water...or I'll just leave bowls in random places.
My dog is so weird he will only eat his food if i am in the house with him. I can put his breakfast down and if he's not ready for it, he won't eat it. I leave the house for a few hours, his breakfast is still untouched, but as soon as he has finished greeting me as if i've been gone for days, he scoffs the lot.
Love to know what goes on in their minds:-)
I'm now wondering if the material the bowl is made from makes a difference. His water dish is metal, whereas the bowl he drank from is plastic/melamine. Food bowls are ceramic.
I always have fresh water in a ceramic bowl out next to the cat food, but my cat likes to drink water out of my glass when I am watching tellie. I have to make sure I don’t take a swig afterwards ..l. Also we have crows in the garden, that put stale bread in the bird bath before they eat it.
My dog will drink from a puddle in the garden before her bowl, I've often wondered if it's because of the chlorine or other additives in tap water. Dogs certainly can pick up smells better than humans, don't know about cars.
All my dogs and now my two cats only drink from the fish pond or random water bowls I have round the garden for passing hedgehogs etc. The water bowl in the kitchen is virtually untouched.
The fish pond is now very dirty with fish poo etc and, as my husband has been dead for 5 years, it hasn't been cleaned in that time.
Cats are strange creatures.
because cats like to be difficult and awkward!
I have a water bowl in the utility room for the cats but they prefer to drink from the dog bowls that are inside and out!
