I had my two previous dogs insured with Pet Plan and didn't need to call on them for a number of years - until one of my dogs ruptured his cruciate ligament and the other fell ill with pancreatitis in the same month.
Pet Plan refused any payment. No amount of wrangling made any difference. I had paid them all that money for all those years, and when they were needed, they let me down.
My two young dogs (both 4 years old) are uninsured.
Instead, I put some money aside each month to cover unexpected health issues and I will face whatever comes without lining the pockets of unscrupulous insurance companies who trade on the anxieties of pet owners who love and worry about their animals.
