Buster Collar

My cat has just got back from the vet with a buster collar. I have no idea why they are called that and even the vet did not know - any ideas ?

From Wiki - the collars are named from the ruffs worn in the Elizabethan era.

Kruuse, a Danish company, invented the original buster collar. Perhaps it means something in Danish or perhaps it's just a name they invented.

Wiki tells us it is called " an Elizabethan collar, E collar, pet ruff or pet cone (sometimes humorously called a treat funnel, lamp-shade, radar dish, dog-saver, collar cone, or cone of shame)" but makes no mention of 'buster'.
