And what are we all doing today? Still v warm and humid, tho I don't think it's meant to get to yesterdays silly temperatures! I've got to try and get a couple of birthday presents in the post before I forget! Nxt month is even worse - think there is at least 6 September birthdays! atoday is recycling day, where the game is to guess where they will leave the bins when they have finished - where they found them, near our house, or somewhere we can't see and have to look for! Lol!

It was my recycling day yesterday. You could tell a woman was on the team as the bins were left stacked neatly next to my wall, rather than strewn all over the pavement.

Our's was yesteray, didn't have to look too far, it was only outside next door.

Didn't get much done yesterday 33 degrees was too much for any work.  Should be back to the 20's today so catching up.

I'm seriously considering writing a cranky letter to our local council asking them if trashing our bins is a part of their training program for the useless *** that are paid to empty them.

lol morning guys! Everyone's biggest moan in this road is that when they empty them they then leave the bins directly in the centre of the entrance to your driveway, so say you're out when they are being emptied - when you come home you can't then drive into your driveway without stopping your car, getting out and then moving them. I now move my neighbours bins if that happens when they are out, so they can get home and drive straight in lol.

We're lucky, ours come between 6.30 and 7 am so as soon as I hear them I go out and fetch the bins and bags in, they hand them to me.  They're great chaps, take everything without fuss.

My biggest surprise is how much bin collections change from area to area. For example my In-Laws , they've just moved and their new area doesn't collect food waste. So after years and years of having a separate little bin for food waste, like I do, and putting it out every week to be collected , they now do not collect it all att where she lives! They just say chuck it in the main general bin! Which is only emptied every 2 weeks so is delightful in the heat - not!!

Good morning all, cool but overcast here in Carlisle, had a cracking thunderstorm this time yesterday. Our cul-de-sac usually gets stuff dropped by the binmen and left until we spot it or cars churn it up. Just realised I've been on answerbank 20yrs and 2 days! How time flies.

Morning, we've never had a food waste bin but nothing goes into my general waste bin that isn't tied securely  in a sturdy bin liner.  No flies on us!  😂

Good morning Smow and everyone... lovely and sunny outside looking like another hgt one. Took a little stroll to the shop I think it's going to be too warm for me.

Tesco delivery today with my monthly shop, nice to get everything stocked back up. Other than a few blibs and blobs still to do on computer and phone this afternoon easy day.

Gardener lady is due soon, I wish I had found her months ago and the garden wouldn't have been so overgrown.

Morning again. Not much to do today other than phoning the garage . I am hoping they will come out as the car wont start. Unfortunately its been sitting on the drive, basically for the last six months. I need to get it sold but I have been putting it off, my son was the main driver. Hopefully its just the battery.

Our bin has been emptied this morning. We dont get a food waste collection so we tend to double wrap especially in the summer as the bin is only emptied once a fortnight. I would subscribe to a bin cleaning service but they dont come out as far as us. Flies are an ever present problem particularly as we live opposite a farm

Lots of bits n pieces I need to do today - just debating what's most urgent.  Am so tired this morning - slept terribly, despite fan on the bedroom was so humid!

I too should get a birthday card/present off, to my youngest niece.  But I had to e-mail her for her address, so can't send it until she replies !

I am lucky in as much as I get a "pull-out" for all my bins, we have food waste but get free cornstarch bags for a little caddy in the kitchen, then they go in with garden waste which is turned into compost for sale at the recycling site.
