Are there any safe ant killers to use around pets? We''ve had our yearly influx of ants this week and i've got a 4month old lab who's in to everything as well as a 13yr old lab. Thanx

Hello snappy, Boiling water works a treat, but i think there are some powders now that are pet friendly

'If you have problems with ants and other insects invading your home, they are probably crossing your door and/or window sills, baseboards, etc. I've found that if you 'pour' vinegar across the opening sill, it stops their coming in. For some reason, they will not cross it'

Might be of some help..

Bay leaves work around windows and doors. Two or three leaves placed along the ants' entry trail should deter them. The leaves are effective while their scent is detectable (roughly a week). Harmless and uninteresting to dogs.
there is a product called ant stop and it is safe to use around pets and children as long as you move the feeding bowls (the animals feeding bowls that is)
