No, I haven't seen a little egret in Hampshire but I've seen them in Devon and on the Wirral.
My geography is rubbish marycat, but there have been numerous sightings of Little Egret along the Winchester water meadows and the Basingstoke Canal. They can turn up now just about anywhere and have become pretty commonplace in recent years.

There are now some pretty big colonies of egrets in the UK. The Thames estuary, river Adur in Sussex and all around Portsmouth harbour are reported to have thriving colonies.

One flew into my garden in Brghton a few years ago but was soon mobbed by the resident crows. Nice to see something a bit different though

What part of north Hampshire do you live marycat? If we knew then perhaps we could give you a bit more information.

Seen Little Egrets all over the place- Oxfordshire, Yorkshire Ouse, East Anglia- anywhere you care to name- and in the Meon Valley in Hampshire
