family court

Does anyone have knowledge about the process at Family Court.
Is heresay evidence allowed?
Can one defend oneself ? How difficult to defend oneself without knowledge of Family Courts and process of Law at this Court ?
This is an acrimonious split and property involved
Other party alleging assault and wants occupation order.
Successfully opposed these orders previously at "directions hearing", but now at Court for Full hearing.
Property is however about to become myself as "sole owner" from shared occupancy, (mortgage take over)
Any advice out there ?

I understand your question to mean that you are a man and your ex has said you assaulted her, this isn't a case for the family court i don't think, they deal with settlements more when kids are involved. if there are no children I am not quite sure what you are going to court for, if the mortgage company has accepted you are taking over the mortgage then I don't understand unless your ex is sueing for a share, in which case you probably have to show the joint contribution during the jointlife of the mortagage, i am no expert on property law by any means, but i am not clear as to why her saying you were allegedly abusive has any bearing on a property settlement where no kids are involved. Someone will no douut enlighten us.
