aquarium tank

I only have two mystus catfish in tank at moment I did have tigar barbs in there which i was told was fine but they disappeared so im guessing they were eaten(i removed remaining barbs into other tank) Anyone have experience with this catfish? What other fish could I put in with them? Could i put a siamese fighter in with them?
