i notice they are back again. the amazing thing about these birds is that they always arrive back in Britain on the 22nd of May.(i think) regardless of weather conditions, they get here on the same date, year after year.


i can sort of understand the homing thing in birds, but to work to a calender is almost beyond belief.

Amazing isn't it funkymoped. My swallows regularly turned up on May Bank Holiday weekend for years. For the first time this year they are nowhere to be seen, although I have seen them in other places. I shall miss them nesting in my front porch. :o(

Generally about May 4th or 5th here in Beds. They were five days early this year though
