My Cat brought the biggest bird in this morning that you ever did see( well i think so).... it was a fledgeling , and big birds what are the birds with silver on the back of there neck its black all over and big, and make one hell of a racket if its in a cats mouth , We did manage to get it and i did release it 2 hours later when it recuperated, but mum and dad was not happy and poor cat ...not... can not go out side as fear from still beeing dive bombed from mum and dad...I gave him a stern talking too... can anyone also tell me what kind of bird it is , Prey, normal, scavenger, Its claws stuck into me and wouldn't let go!!! OUCH

If it has a white thick beak it is probably a crow. If it has a completey grey/silver head with bluish eyes, it will be a jackdaw. Ravens are massive birds about the size of a large cockerel, but they are all black with a bluish sheen. Otherwise it could be a rook. Jackdaws and rooks are a bit smaller than a herring gull, so it may be too small. The biggest black bird with a silver/grey head, that I know of, is a hooded crow. Best to look it up in a British bird book.

It had such blue eyes, so thanks it must be a jack door, do you know if they scavindish, or birds of prey, or just eat worms, my mum hates what ever it was, but it was such a great bird....

as far as i know jackdoors arn't really scavangers, and i think they are rather cute lol

Jackdaws are quite timid birds and generally not aggressive like crows. They are extremely intelligent and can be tamed. I think they are wonderful and regularly am entertained by them in our garden.

perhaps a bell round the cats collar would protect our wildlife

I had kept the Cats in till last week but the weather beeing too hot i decided to let them out, They have the loudest bells in the village i think, They have been keeping me up half the night cos all i hear is jingling, i can now tell which one it is even though there identical collars,

he only caught flys up until friday, But i did give him a stern telling off and we chatted about it...he said he was sorry

what about your poor cat? He probably took hours to catch a big tasty snack and you took it away from him. I think that doing that was cruel, if your cat could use the phone he would be onto the SSPCA/RSPCA to complain about you.

The only thing my cat ever caught was fleas and a half dead spider.
