Try to have him nearby and then you can pacify him by kind words and stroking him.You can gradually move his bed further away as he becomes calmer.Talk to him softly and calmly and he will gradually come to realise you are the pack leader and settle down .Pups are like children ....when you put a child into their own bed in a strange room they often do the same ! Patience and praise are the key .Once he is settled then just try to ignore him if he starts again because if you keep giving in he will try it on. Never shout or tell him off because this is counter productive and he will just do it to get attention.
Good luck. He will grow out of this !!

Hi Dazman. we have a 16 week old staff n he has always had an old T shirt I wore for two days in his bed with him, we have never had a night without sleep and he has always been happy about bedtime.
We have a routine for him...it goes...wee in the garden followed by two small biscuits when he is in his bed...he loves bedtime !...it works anywhere n have tested it this weekend to the max by staying away with him at familys n it is just the same there.
Try it out n good luck
