Sore won't healt

My cat has a sore spot around the corner of his mouth, he keeps scratching it so it wont heal. If I put salt water or any kind of ointment on he goes potty, and keeps scratching it or licking it off. How can I get it to heal without him keep scratching it ?? It looks very sore and keeps scabbing over, trying to heal. Should I just keep it clean with warm water ?

Maybe you should go to your vets or pet store and by one of the funnels to go round his neck for abit?
Ok so he will have to stay in, & he may not feel to manly or glamorous in it! but it will stop him scratching it?
