Hello, I'm having a dispute with a work colleague who is convinced that dogs and cats when born puppies and kittens are born with fleas already on their fur/skin.

Please can someone advise me this is not true. Secondly if you can provide me with aweb link I'd be most grateful.

Regards

No, they can be born with worms, but not fleas, although of course if the mother has them, or they are born in a bed infested with fleas, they will jump onto the babies straight away.

No, they are not born with fleas but if the mother has fleas or there are fleas in the carpets they will soon have them.
