Bruce Cattenach bred a line that were bob tailed so see what would happen rathen than have them docked, but as I understand it, there were so many problems associated with spinal conditions that this was not continued.
Now that the Animal Welfare Bill has been put on the statute book tail docking will be banned other than for certified working breeds, and although there are some breeds that have natural bobs, i.e. Australian Shepherds, Swedish Vallhunds, amongst others, most breeders will have to get used to the fact that their breed can no longer be docked, and those that can will not be allowed to be shown.
