Bird in a bird?

On eastenders the other day, peggy had a pigs head as a centre piece on her table for Ians wedding but she also said something about

'a bird, in a bird, in a bird' A duck in a chicken in a turkey or something?

Anyone know if this is real or have i misunderstood?

If so pics or places to order from would be great help...thanks!

My friend got one last year it cost �70 and that was just for three people.
I'm sure I also saw a River Cottage episode where Hugh Fearnly Whitinstone (sp?) did a quall in a chicken, in a duck, in a turkey, in a goose!

it looked gorgeous, if not a bit time consuming!
bird in bird,have been for sale for a few years now,but not all butchers do them,i have ordered one from my butcher,i am not quite sure how they do them,mine will be turkey,with chicken inside,then stuffing in the middle, i know they only use the crown of the turkey and probably the breast of the chicken,they are compleatly bone less, i think i paid about twenty six pounds last year for one, and it feeds about six,my butcher said he would be up all night making them because he had so many orders.
If you're in Lancashire then Booths supermarkets do them, for about �60 I think.
they take a lot of work.....my boss did a five bird roast and it took him a hour or so and hes a butcher.....

plus, its hard to serve, so everyone gets a taste of each bird.

I think that different parts of the country have got different views on this,i live in wales cant understand mrrobbo 15 how is it hard to serve? no bones? like sliceing through butter,maybe theres butchers and butchers.
I had a Turkey Ballantyne last year from the butchers (Russells of Melbourn - Cambs).

It was turkey, stuffed with duck, stuffed with phesant, stuffed with stuffing! It cost around �55 but was enough to feed about twenty. To be honest I got really fed up of leftovers in the end!

It is not easy to carve neatly - we ended up with lumps of meat as it tends to fall apart but it was very nice as the fatter duck keeps the turky moist.
yeah sorry, its easy to carve but in say, the first slice can only b the outside bird......

to get a slice of all the birds, it as to come from the middle
