I think once should do it, mine likes a nice hot bubbly bath once per week!
Don't forget to wash behind its ears!
Just a warning to novice owners, don't forget the water wings, I've lost count of how many times I have been called upon to dive in and save a drowning goldfish just because the arrogant idiots that buy them don't have a clue. Your book can' t come soon enough.
Since when did the 'boy' become a self-styled 'stud'?
and don't assume that they can swim, I knew of a Peking Duck once that couldn't swim.

Maybe he is running a goldfish stud farm, racing goldfish or even goldfish fighting.

Always dip your elbow in the water, to test the temerature, before putting fishie in. Twice a week is the reccomended bathing amount according to J P Hartley.

Cant wait for your book to come out, can I order one in advance as its bound to be a best seller
They love Matey bubblebath best of all

Now Mateys a bundle of fun
You slips me in the bath
I'm fun for everyone
And always good for a laugh

And it makes the bath all clean too!!!

Apparently its the only thing goldfish can remember as it rhymes so brilliantly!
I just chuck a bath bomb in the tank once a week....I think this only works for tropical fish though....

Here is some good advice-Don't buy a bowl, buy a tank. On initial set up the tank will need to go trough a process called Cycling, you will find all the info on different web sites. Goldfish can get huge and keeping them in a bowl will stunt there growth but will make internal organs weak. Make sure you have a good filter as goldfish are the dirtiest fish to keep and also have oxygen circulating, don't want fishies dying because of ammonia levels rising too high. Every so often check PH and nitrite levels, goldfish can survive in quite high PH levels. Add declorinator after every water change when adding water to tank. You only need to take out about 25% water every time you clean the tank because you need beneficial bacteria to keep the fish healthy. You will not need a heater to keep goldfish, as the can live in ice cold water. Hopefully this will help people thinking of getting a cheap fish, which should be treated with respect. I have been keeping my goldfish for 7 years know with no health problems. I also keep a 60 gallon tropical tank. Well that's about all folks, happy fish keeping.

Maybe I should write a book LOL.....
I have never heard of bathing fish but I bath my lobsters once a week in boiling water.
I used to take mine to the municipical community baths for a good scrubdown twice a week. It used to follow me doggedly on the little leash that I had specially made for it. As with so many pet stories, this one also ends on a sad note. One day it was raining and I wasn't aware that the leash was broken, the poor little blighter slipped in a puddle of water and drowned.
you lot are raving bonkers
Wildwood....that's so sad. Just goes to show that lankeela was right abot thw water wings.
'about the'....... note to self.....learn to type!!!!!
wildwood - you made me cry! :o(

noknowledge - mine was the fish version of course!!:o)
I think you must be having a laugh. The only time I ever bathed my goldfish was when it was sick. That was a salt bath.
finally an imposterer!!!
Has the 'stud' been castrated?
Just incase your were wondering the sex

The fullness of a ripe female indicates her sex. Mature males will show small white tubercles on the gill plates and along the first ray of the pectoral fin when in breeding condition.
