What does the law say about leaving dogs in cars? Is it never ever ever or just on sunny days? It would be helpful if I could leave my dog in the car for five/ten minutes on occassion during the winter.

There are no laws in the UK re leaving your dogs unattended in cars.

So yes, you can leave him in your car.

The only possible offence would be causing unnecessary suffering - and if your dog is happy and comfortable in a cool car, no problem.
Aston Martin is cool. So is Maserati.
Yes Ethel is quite correct again.

I have a friend with working dogs who sleep in his Landrover. It has never been stolen since.
the advice is to leave a window slightly open just to get a bit of air on warm days, not just hot days, as cars can get hotter than the day would have you think

perhaps even a small bucket of water too.
