Im so right? You should change your name to I'm so wrong! You cannot make sweeping statements like that on such an emotive issue. Lankeela is right, country & hunting folk don't want to see any animal in distress and will swiftly dispatch any such animal. Remember the big hoo-hah about the Queen doing exactly that with an injured bird? I've done the same with rats that have been poisoned, not pleasant to see them staggering around craving water - so a swift end is much more humane - surely you realise that? Or perhaps this govts hunting with dogs Bill is preferable whereby indescriminate killing by shooting (by anyone who offers their services to do it and not necessarily a good shot) often maiming or injuring foxes is better, or trapping or gassing - which can effect more than just foxes would suit you? Hunting with hounds was controlled, it was the best way to cull the fox population -uusually the aged, sick or injured and hounds made a quick kill - proven by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. You simply don't understand the way people involved with hunting respect the fox and cruelty is far from their minds. I think they are beautiful creatures and I love to watch them in the wild. But I'm also realistic enough to know that they are indescriminate killers and there is a need for vermin to be controlled. However, the new legislation could see the fox population decimated by shooting and foxes instead of being a country living animal will move more & more into towns where they will be at risk from a much more serious predator - man. So, Im so wrong, sorry im so right, you're writing a paper about the imhmane treatment of foxes on hunts? Perhaps I should write a paper on the inhumane treatment of ABers by you! Remember, open your eyes & ears to others and don't be so narrow minded and dismissive about things you know nothing about. By the way I'm not a country person I'm a townie - but I opened my eyes & ears a long time ago!
