My one-year old Springer has been brought up on the BARF ( bones and raw foods) diet.He has been eating meaty raw bones, particularly raw chicken wings, since he was about four weeks old.Bones are an extremely valuable source of calcium. It is my understanding that the acid in a dog's stomach is so strong that it 'dissolves' the bones.Put it like this,I have never noticed anything solid in his faeces!!!
The BARF diet is based on foods which a dog living in the wild would have eaten i.e.a natural diet.
