The study of spiders

Does anyone know the term for the study of spiders?
I just found a large spider in my bedroom!!

Well......its got quite a large body with detailed patterns all over, small fangs at the front (not sure if all spiders have them). It just doesn't look like a normal house spider, I'm quite alarmed by this to be honest. I've kept it in a sealed glass jar.
