Hello all. Just a quick question. We have a cat called George who is a very happy indoor mogs. This week we are moving flat and the whole experience of us packing up is unnerving him a bit. At the mo his litter tray is by the big patio door onto the balcony. In our new flat, we don't have those (the balcony is in a different place - the bedroom). I was just wondering other indoor cat owners where they keep their litter trays? Also, any ideas as to make the move the least stressful for the mogs. Thanks in advance.
Also I keep my litter tray by the back door....but this is only temporary as I'm hoping my kitties will learn to use next doors back garden in the summer ;o]........only joking.....honest!!!
Just for the day of the move dont clean the litter tray, once you have shown it to them in the new place they will find it OK. Moving is always stressfull for pets, just give them loads of fuss and attention, they will be fine.
I used to keep mine in the toilet and use that flushable litter stuff you could just scoop it in, I always thought it was sort of logical .I have also known cats to be taught how to use the loo although mine does pee in the shower tray when caught short (we have an outdoor cat now) I had one of those with the cover on too so everyone was not forced to look at it. I wouldnt suggest the cover till he is well settled though. Leave some wet litter in for the move day as suggested then smell will be well homely and take his own smelling blankest , toys etc. Lots of affection and they are very adaptable. If they realize you are chilled they will pick up on it. Good luck
