Help! My sister is staying in my mum's house for a few days and last night spotted a little mouse that has come in from the garden . The house is mostly unoccupied since our mum died last year and we all live some distance away. How can she make sure the mouse is out of the house before she leaves on Saturday/ She is terrified of it by the way and is now staying at a friend's house .

sorry to say that virtually the only way to get rid of mice is a cat or to trap them. There are several types of trap available from the traditional "nippers" to various "humane" & "sonic" devices, tho I must admit I've never had any success with the sonics
'tut'...
we had a success with a Humane trap, an oblong clear plastic thing we got from a Garden centre, the bait we used was milk chocolat, they love it, caught three in on successive days, tokk them about two miles away and released them.
Best of luck.
