Introducing kitten to cat and dog
I already have a cat (2) and a dog (1) who, tolerate each other, although they can "play" together sometimes. A friend recently got a kitten, but one of her boys is very allergic to cat hair she has since found out. Being the soft touch that I am I offered to take said 11 week old kitten. Please could someone give me advice on how to get the three of them used to each other? I will be getting him Friday night, which means I have the whole weekend and Bank Holiday Monday to start the process. My big cat is always out through the day and in at night and the dog usually comes to work with me.

Much the same with the older cat, except he will probably hiss at the baby a bit, and smack him round the snout! Don't make a big thing of it. give the kitten lots to play with so he doesn't need to 'encourage' the other two to play with him. If you just let them get on with it I am sure it will be ok.
i lost one of my cats 3 years ago and already had another cat and a dog. we decided to have another cat and had a 6 week old kitten. my other cat was 13 at the time and my dog 10. i just put the kitten down on the floor and supervised the other 2 to see what would happen, but they just sniffed her and my older cat walked off and the dog became a surrogate mother (even though the dog is male) so i wouldnt worry to much about them getting on.
