In which month is the skylark not heard?

If this is for a quiz dembee, then I'm not sure that there is a definitive answer.

They sing most frequently between the months of January and August.

Less common at other times and rarely during August and September.

I have pondered this for a good while and have come to the conclusion that there is not a 'factual' answer. I have heard skylarks in all months of the year. I suspect this may perhaps relate to a poem or some other type of old quote.
