I've just seen a weird looking bee, crawling in the soil of one of the pots in my garden. It was the general shape of a honey bee,but had more of a brownish coloured body, and really thick, bright yellow legs, that didn't have any stripes.I 've tried searching online, but can't find it.Would anyone know what it might be? No pun intended !!

Probably one of the many solitary bees. The thick yellow legs; pollen sacs with which to carry pollen back to the nest for food. If you look for solitary bees I'm sure you'll find something.
Could it be this Pine Sawfly, linda?

I can't find a photo, but this drawing should give you an idea. It is brown and has yellow legs, so might be a possible.
