I rescued a Muskavich duck that was trotting along a road not far from where I live at 2am this morning, Ive put him in the garden shed with some straw and water and an assortment of wet bread (brown) and various bird seeds, he doesn't seem to be particularly interested in the food. Ive been unable to track down where he came from so Im taking him to a duck sanctuary as soon as I can arrange the transport. Anyone have any better ideas on what he may like to eat while he's here? cheers.

Muscovy ducks are not equipped to eat bread or seed, in the wild they feed on water snails and vegetation. Bread isn't good for birds, it compacts in the crop. The local pet shop or farmer's supply shop should be able to give you a proprioetory(?) duck mash.

thanks for that amonty, duck went along to a duck sanctuary in West Yorkshire early this evening where he had a hearty meal of duck mash when we got there after turning his nose up at the bread and seed (quite rightly and just as well by the sounds of it). Cheers, if there's a next time I'll know!
Hen food will always do for ducks. Many pet shops sell it.
So good of you to pick him up Lizzy, most people wouldn't have bothered!
